Oriflame R&D supports the development of several hundred products every year for the Oriflame group. Wellness by Oriflame is one of our key strategic brands and Oriflame R&D leads the technical development of these Swedish inspired food and nutritional products. We develop novel products internally as well as working with a network of partners in Europe.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and high performing solid dosage formulator to join our team on a maternity leave cover contract. The role focuses on both in-house manufactured and contract manufactured solid dosage nutritional products. You will be a key player in the NPD process. This role holder will support supplier selection, raw material sourcing and review, product registrations, process validation, and quality and claims substantiation. This role holder will work closely with all product development team members including regulatory, safety, process engineering, packaging and quality. The role holder will also work closely with Marketing and Procurement functions. Formulations will be provided to many global markets and this position will be a primary technical resource to the markets on formulation related questions and issues. A small amount of travel may be required (10%)

• Work closely with Marketing and Product Development teams to establish product profiles and timing targets
• Formulate solid dosage (tablets, hard shell capsules, softgels) and RTM formulations to target profiles and claims
• Work with and manage the development of such formulations by 3rd party partners (CMO/CRO), ensuring timelines and milestones are delivered. Review and approve supplier provided formulations in accordance with Marketing and technical requirements
• Support designing and validating safety, regulatory, stability, quality and claims substantiation testing plans as necessary
• Approve raw materials through the Oriflame’s internal approval systems
• Work closely with Procurement and Quality to identify and approve contract suppliers
• Provide support to local technical representation in market on product/formula related matters
• Work with colleagues to share knowledge and ideas. Actively contribute to team activities and support other team members when necessary

• Degree in pharmaceutical sciences, nutraceutical science or food science ideally with experience in solid dosage formulations (e.g. tablets, capsules, softgels)
• Capability to broadly represent the technical aspects of products and product development across functions and in a global community
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing across many functions
• Ability to influence around technical problems and solutions
• Enjoys hands-on formulation development work as well as working with CROs/CMOs
• Willingness to travel
