The purpose of the role is to build and lead commercial gross margin planning and tracking process for all markets being the link between Finance and Commercial Organizations in Lead/Scale and Venture markets

The role is vital in overall company gross margin management process during all budgeting and financial review stages and on daily basis.

The role is responsible to plan gross margin targets for all commercial source of sales taking into account the following variables: base period gross margin, price changes, costs changes, F/X changes, demand changes, commercial strategy, merchandising strategy, potential investments and financial top-line expectations.

The role cooperates with Finance Heads for Lead/Scale/Venture markets, MDs and Commercial Organizations for Lead and Scale markets, Venture Markets Management.

  • Schedule pricing calls with Lead and Scale markets based on expected re-pricing timings
  • Schedule pricing and margin management quarterly calls for Venture Markets
  • Prepare required input for the call: overview of macroeconomic situation, internal performance including margin performance
  • Run any needed simulations before or after the call
  • Plan gross margin targets for all commercial source of sales: catalogue sales, digital sales and total, taking into account the following variables: base period gross margin, price changes, costs changes, F/X changes, demand changes, commercial strategy, merchandising strategy, potential investments and financial top-line expectations.
  • Align commercial margin targets with Finance and provide targets as input for all budgeting and best estimates financial planning stages
  • Prepare necessary slides and summaries at local/global level connected with margin
  • Ensures margin targets are distributed to all necessary functions within organization
  • Additionally calculate targets for Commercial Planners that are based on the overall agreed targets, but takes into account only variables already reflected in Clover
  • Monitors Clover for changes and update the targets for Planners on on-going basis
  • Tracks gross margin performance during the year after closing of the campaign
  • Prepare full year outlook of margin based on actuals, forecast and targets taking into account demand shift/mix historical performance
  • Highlights risk connected with delivering margin targets and suggests gap closing strategies
  • Monitors business needs in terms of margin data/analysis
  • Works closely with system owners (Clover & Power BI) to automate margin setting and reporting
  • Constantly monitors existing solutions seeking improvements and further optimizations
  • Prepares required ad-hoc analysis and simulation connected with commercial margin management
  • 5+ years’ experience in analysis/consulting/pricing management/research companies
  • Finance/Marketing/Data Analysis background
  • Strong commercial acumen and great consumer insight
  • Very good communication skills both written and oral
  • Good knowledge of IT systems and database management, analytical & pricing software (e. g. Power BI), advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Education – Masters degree
