To further strengthen our Global Procurement Department, we are searching for a Global Senior Buyer, based in our office in Stockholm (hybrid).

Purpose of the role

As Global Senior Buyer you will take strategic sourcing and procurement ownership of specific Packaging Materials within a global context, supporting the management of a €40 million global spend across over 50 suppliers. Collaborating closely with Procurement colleagues and key stakeholders across NPD Procurement, Development, Quality, Sustainability, Manufacturing and Planning functions, you will contribute to the efficient management of suppliers, ensuring competitive advantage, increased profitability, business growth and added value to the company and be at the heart of our strategic sourcing efforts.

Key responsibilities

Sourcing strategy and sourcing of new suppliers

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for packaging materials (e.g., glass, plastic bottles, cartons, tubes) aligned with current and future business needs.
  • Segment supplier base and spend to optimize sourcing decisions.
  • Identify, source and onboard new suppliers including managing business transfers.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency by collaborating with suppliers and leveraging external market forces.
  • Maintain deep market insight into suppliers, cost drivers, trends, innovations, and sustainability.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Manage the global supplier base for your packaging material commodities.
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance across cost, quality, service, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Set and track supplier sustainability targets and conduct regular assessments.
  • Implement contracts and proactively manage supplier risk.
  • Drive efficiency, value engineering, and standardization initiatives.
  • Resolve critical supplier issues related to quality, service, and delivery.

Spend Management

  • Own and manage spend for assigned packaging material commodities.
  • Align spend allocation with sourcing strategy in collaboration with the NPD Procurement team.
  • Drive and track cost-saving initiatives to ensure year-on-year savings.
  • Lead annual price negotiations and standard costing processes.
  • Maintain accurate procurement master data and monitor monthly savings performance.

Required experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is the minimum required education.
  • At least 5-10 years of professional experience in the Procurement environment preferably related to packaging materials (glass, plastic bottles/tubes, printed etc.).
  • Proven track record in managing complex spend and diverse supplier portfolios across a wide range of products, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Experience from the Cosmetics, Food or FMCG industry is preferred.
  • Professional experience of multiple spend categories, e-procurement processes and systems eg. Ariba.
  • Ability to work in diverse cultural and geographic environments and adhere to highest ethical standards.
  • Good presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in English.
