The Regulatory Scientist is responsible for ensuring product compliance with global regulations and internal policies across the business categories ahead of sale in relevant markets. The successful candidate will work alongside our category teams during New Product Development (NPD). The ideal candidate will manage documentation and product labelling to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements in all the Oriflame markets.

  • Proactively guides compliance with applicable regulations and Oriflame policies during new product development (NPD), supporting product claims, reviewing product labelling, and ensuring required documentation is available for registration.
  • Supporting the development of internal procedures to ensure continuous compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role contributes to the development of best practices for Regulatory Affairs processes.
  • Support regulatory compliance activities with third party and internal manufacturing, including manufacturing site & GMP requirements for registration.
  • Support regulatory activities for regulatory supplier and portfolio management.
  • Identifies and develops best practices within the Regulatory Affairs Department including continuous development initiatives.
  • Responsible for providing expert direction on and regulatory approval of all regulatory label text requirements during NPD.
  • Research and generate Market Intelligence data for cosmetic / non-cosmetic & borderline products and claims to support successful launches.
  • Represents Global Regulatory Affairs on cross-functional project teams.
  • Supports the team in maintaining up to date guidance on permitted and non-permitted Cosmetic claims in all Oriflame markets.
  • Inform management of any regulatory threats or opportunities with our product range, working to define and implement the best approach to new regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively raise any product regulatory issues or concerns during the NPD process to the relevant stakeholders within the team (Stockholm and Dublin) which may impact product registration timings, market restrictions or other sales related activity.
  • Support business projects which require updates to product artwork and market notifications. Contributes to the activities of our Regulatory Affairs group and demonstrates flexibility as priorities change.
  • Communicate to the broader Global Regulatory team on any requests received outside standard NPD timings and agree actions required and revised NPD timelines as necessary.
  • Minimum degree qualified in relevant scientific discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a regulatory compliance role.
  • Knowledge of the EU legislation for cosmetics.
  • Knowledge of regulatory body interactions is an additional asset but not essential.
  • Knowledge of New Product Development Processes would be beneficial.
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages and product labelling approval tools.
  • Knowledge of Stage & Gate Processes.
  • Strong organizational & administrative capability.
  • Self-motivated, ability to prioritise workload and meet role deadlines.
  • Team player with ability to act on own initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with ability to influence.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships and a good understanding of working within a multi-cultural environment, comfortable in an environment within which the ability to negotiate is required.
